United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG),is pleased to announce the World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders - 4^th UCLG World Congress to be held from 1 to 4 October 2013 in the city of Rabat, Morocco.

2013 is a very symbolic year for our Organization. This event coincides with the one hundredth anniversary of the municipal movement across the world.

Under the lemma “Imagine Society, Build Democracy”, the World Summit in Rabat will allow local and regional elected representatives, technicians, institutional partners and all participants to take part in the work that will be launched on the future of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) at the end of their term in 2015 and the implementation of a new world urban agenda in the framework of Habitat III in 2016.

The Summit is a unique occasion to present and debate local concrete solutions to world problems. It is also the occasion to define policies and actions to support local and regional authorities’ contributions to the strategic objectives of the international development agenda.

Naturally, the World Summit offers an unparalleled networking opportunity wherebest practices can be exchanged with counterparts from around the world on how to address the issues affecting your city and your region. Private partners will also be present and looking to discuss effective public-private partnership opportunities.
